Audience Feedback

These are some of the pieces of feedback that I received from people when I showed  them my music video. A lot of it is positive, however there are a few bits of constructive criticism that I could use to improve if I ever did remake my music video.

Rough Cut

  • This is our rough cut, as you can see there are a few issues that need addressing such as the editing needs neatening up and some of the lip syncing needs to be matched to the music properly
  • Another issue that I need to address in my final edit is the colours. Towards the end, there is a scene that should be black and white but is shown in full colour and this needs to be changed before I can submit my full completed music video.
  • One of the more effective parts of my music video would be the 'LEMONADE' digital screen which hints to the audience of whats happening within the video. It also brings a sense of reality to the video as it links it back to the fact that the video is based on someone being a character on a virtual reality program.
  • Another effective part of my video would probably be the train and London Eye edit and the way that I manipulated the footage so that it would suit the genre a lot more. With the London Eye, I sped it up so that it looked like the wheel was turning faster then stopped, then continued, which was quite an effective edit. Similarly with the tube station, the train was travelling at high speed so I slowed the footage down up until the last second of that clip where I sped it back up again.

I think with these few edits and adaptions, it will make quite a good final product.

Group Messages

These are some of the messages that were exchanged during the production. From these screenshots you can see that we had to talk a lot through the production and planning to meet up and to sort out sending bits of footage.

Reshoots

We had a fair few re-shoots to do in the end. Some of them were due to corrupt footage and others due to footage going wrong.
One piece of footage we had to re-shoot was the lip syncing as this wasn't in time with the song and at the end, the actor doing it ended up laughing. So we wrote this footage off as unusable and had to try getting the exact footage that I needed with the synchronised lip singing to the music.

Fails and Bloopers

We had to refilm these parts of the video countless times due to embarrassment on the Monkey Bar scene on the underground which we thought was quite funny and we could have as a blooper.

And then again we had a bit of footage that was filmed to early and we didn't get the right outcome so this was written off and discarded as failed footage.
